Left Channel: RJD2 1976

left channelLeft Channel, a motion and design studio from Columbus, Ohio, created this very cool video for the group RJD2. The song isn't that special, but the video has these cool cut outs from photos of urban Cuba that move in 3D space. It's very well done.

Left Channel's website has other really nice work, so if you have a minute stop by. I believe they use Trapcode 3D Stroke in their transitions between pages on their website.

What do you think? Feel free to leave a comment.

"Walking Shade" by Billy Corgan has a small Quicktime of Billy Corgan's new video, Walking Shade. Billy Corgan is the ex-front man of the Smashing Pumpkins. I can't deny that I was a superfan of the Pumpkins and saw them 11 times in concert.

The video is reminiscent of the Pumpkins' Tonight, Tonight video in it's Victorian surreal imagery. You'll see lots of use of 3D space, typography and great compositing. The video was directed by P.R. Brown, who is relatively new to music video.

MTV Europe says, "The video is beautifully directed with Billy wearing very old-fashioned outfits. Paper birds, flower tears and Billy also ride one of those pre-historic bicycles with one huge wheel and one really small. P.R Brown has worked with Billy and Smashing Pumpkins before and also Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails. This is a wonderful video and a fantastic comeback from Billy Corgan!"

"It's a beautiful video that pushes the envelope with After Effects and also revives a style of graphic design that has slowly disappeared since the 90's, but should be making a glorious comeback." according to
