Gnarls Barkley "Gone Daddy Gone"

I love Gnarls Barkely. I saw them this summer at Lollapalooza in Chicago and the whole band came out in tennis outfits. Haha. It seems that Gnarls Barkley is going to be a joining the White Stipes in the ranks as a band that consistently put out cool and groundbreaking videos. You have most likely seen Crazy about 20 times by now, but it's a great video.

The Punk Guy blog interviewed 'Gone Daddy Gone' Director Chris Milk a while back too. Check out Chris Milk's site for more inspiration. Chris has recently worked on videos for Modest Mouse, JET, Chemical Brothers, and several videos for Kanye West (who I also saw at Lollapalooza, incidently).

Jerome's demo reelJerome Olivier is a mograph artist who has worked in Tokyo for many many years. His reel is terrific - lots of variety, interesting edits, cool music. Those of you working on your own demo reel... take notes!

You may recognize his name from the film Missing Pages, a unique short film that has won film festival awards all over the world. I interviewed Jerome in February 2006.

Three Legged Legs: Humans

Jim Geduldick sent me this very clever and funny video, Humans by Greg Gunn, Casey Hunt, Reza Rasoli of Otis College of Art & Design. The won 'Best of 2006' at the 2006 Global Student Animation Awards, announced August 22. Gunn, Hunt and Rasoli are collectively known as "Three Legged Legs", which have appeared in this inspirations section on a previous occasion... in otherwords, their work is amazing.
